“Wing”

Over the years, I have been honored with roles that carry with them a high degree of responsibility and pride. In my fifth year in secondary school, I was appointed as a school prefect. I helped teachers to maintain the discipline in class and better school atmosphere. Also, I checked the dress code of the students and act as a role model to the peers by counselling and guiding them in positive discipline. I can always maintain an excellent attendance and punctuality record for duties. These are the duties that have helped develop me as a person and taught me the skills of delegation, arbitration, listening as well as the vital skills needed to work with others in order to generate results. In my fourth year at my secondary school school, I have attended 23rd Student Leader Convention at Hwa Chung Institution. We have discussed about global issues and the solutions to alleviate them. I have gained experience and maturity through the challenges I faced in the convention. I used to be introverted. However, I have learnt to become a leader in the convention by presenting the ideas of mine in front of the students from all around the world and make new friends. I learnt to cooperate with other students by listening to others’ ideas and communicate with them to get a comprehensive solution to global issues. I feel that the first few years of a baby's life need numerous positive role models. This convention bulit me up as a leader and I wish I can be an influential role model of the children. I have also went to China visit for volunteer work in Jiangmen where I served as a teacher in China and worked with children in rural areas. I focused on teaching English and helping local teachers. This is a great way to get practical classroom experience and help children at the same time. Also, I organised an English lessons for the students. Therefore, I have learnt to maintain the discipline of the students in class and how to catch their attention and how to make them interested in learning. Besides, I have been doing volunteer work such as flag selling, blood donation, to name but a few. “Courage, kindness, friendship, character defines us as human beings.”is always my motto. Overall, I believe that I am a responsible, dedicated and diligent person. I am a good listener and I have fluent and good english communication skills which is essential for a teaching career, and would definitely help me in my time at university. I would like to further my education and hopefully end up with a successful and fulfilling career. I think university would suit me because it would give me an opportunity to live and work independently for a change and I would be able to meet different people from all walks of life.
