I was often asked the question throughout my undergraduate education in New York University and the University of Michigan, as though the subject is somehow vaguer than other majors and eludes definition. Unlike medicine, law and finance, there doesn't seem to be a profession directly linked to English. Yet there is something crucial that we gain in reading the classics that we cannot acquire elsewhere. Studying English is to not only understand the language but to inhabit the great minds throughout our human history, slowly assimilating the splendor of a different time. Drawing from personal and past tutoring experience past students include DBS, DGS, LSC, St. Jospeh, CDNIS, GSIS, . , I believe that Hong Kong's English curriculum can at best allow students to attain an intermediate level, if not altogether failing to bring local students on par with the international standard or supporting the needs of studying or living abroad. My English program is primarily tailored for students who seek to excel and those who are non-complacent with the flying grades that they are already getting in local exams. For those who wish to study in the USUK, my goal is to equip you to assimilate into the foreign culture that you are about to set foot in I am also more than happy to provide complete guidance for those who would like to apply to U.S. universities for further studies. And for others who study locally, I shall improve your reading, creative writing and critical thinking skills, ultimately igniting a genuine curiosity that shall prove successful in all walks of life. During my stay in the University of Michigan, I have become a published author, a magazine founder and its editor in chief being the only Asian supervising 10 of my American peers, and a first honor graduate in English Literature. Having majored in English as a second language, I thoroughly understand the struggles that local students may have. Go hire a local tutor, and heshe may not have the experience of studying abroad go hire a foreign tutor, and heshe cannot understand the struggles that local students may have. I look forward to working together with your child and passing milestones that were never possible before.
